The Opportunity

MELD is a career readiness program designed to support women entering or pivoting within the workforce. While the mission was strong, their previous website lacked clarity, energy, and visual cohesion. Ultimately, it fell short in reaching and resonating with its target audience. This project was three-pronged: refresh MELD’s branding, design custom webpages, and build out the designs into Webflow.

The Goals

  1. Refresh MELD’s online presence with a bold, modern design that reflects the organization’s mission to empower and equip women for career success and that everyone deserves a “seat at the table”
  2. Clearly articulate the program’s value to increase member enrollment and engagement among prospective participants
  3. Establish trust and credibility with potential funders, sponsors, and partners through a polished, professional digital experience
  4. Streamline the user journey to help visitors quickly find key information about the program, resources, and how to get involved

The Solutions

  1. Branding & Visual Design: We established a bold, uplifting visual identity for MELD — combining warm, energetic colors, confident typography, and approachable illustration styles. This system was designed to reflect both professionalism and sisterhood.
  2. UX Strategy & Content Architecture: We identified core user needs and structured the site around intuitive user flows. Key sections like the program overview, success stories, and FAQs were surfaced to reduce friction and increase engagement.
  3. UI Design & Development: We delivered several rounds of design for the client. We designed clean, modern UI components in Figma and brought them to life with a fully responsive website.

Results & Impact

  1. A clear, confident digital presence that resonates with MELD’s target demographic
  2. Improved information flow, helping visitors quickly understand what the program offers and how to get involved
  3. A brand system that can grow with the organization — applied across digital and social media collateral
  4. Positive feedback from stakeholders and users, including increased site traffic and more streamlined program inquiries

The Conclusion

This project was a rewarding yet challenging blend of consulting, branding, and developing the site in Webflow. I gained valuable experience in aligning visual identity with user needs and learned the importance of designing for responsiveness. One of my biggest takeaways was the power of clarity: by simplifying the content structure and honing the messaging, we created a user experience that aligned with MELD's brand and mission.
